Anyone found a way to download to iPod?

When I am on the website/itunes podcasts, when I click download, it doesn't actually download the podcast to my device, and every time my iPod closes, the podcast stops.

if I download it on my android phone, it's stored and I can listen to it when ever I want.

Any ideas?
