Hey Dude,
I tried to start a private convo and kept getting the error message below.
Oh,Mr. Carlwood & your wonky forum
Perhaps it will resolve itself later.
In the meantime-
May I ask,
are you a life-long gamer?
what was the first video game
you ever remember playing?
The last one?
What is your favorite genre?
Do you think video games
can transcend their apparatus to achieve Real World application/instruction?
What do you consider your strongest skill area?
Who is your favorite author?
Chuk, please feel free to ask any questions you may have.
Great things DO STILL come from humble beginnings!!! Cheers.
I'm definitely a life-long gamer. It's one of the reason why I decided to jump into game development.
I can't exactly remember the first video game I ever played, but my first system was a sega genesis. I would say the first game I really learned how to play would probably be between sonic 1 since that game with a genesis at that time and altered beast!
My favorite genre right now would probably be roguelike. It doesn't have to be a pure roguelike so rogue-lites also work as well. Runner up genres would be fighting, action, and rpg games!
I do think video games can transcend their apparatus and achieve real world applications, it's actually one of the reasons I'm down this path. I think video games is a highly evolved form of media that has a lot of potential to effect many people in different ways.
My strongest skill area in game development? If that's the case I would say programming, game design, and sound/audio.
My favorite author is kind of a hard one. I don't really have one, but I've read quite a few Robert Anton Wilson books that I've enjoyed!
