his performance on THC isn't worth commenting on or getting worked up over...but I just GOTTA say the obvious: jan, you sounded like a confrontational, hostile jerk and owe mr. carlwood and his audience an apology. I knew you had a self righteous streak, but this was beyond too much. it speaks volumes about mr. carlwood's demeanor that he handled it so well.

He he, it's one of the most entertaining shows that Greg has done.
Nobody said that being a host is an easy job. Not all guests are easygoing ''nice guys''. It was like facing a fanatic - here I stand, I can do no other...
Gregs growing frustration and the way he dealt with it was a masterpiece.
Doesn't matter if Jan was a dick or not - artificalskies - you should look at the content... It was a full two hour show... maybe rough, but no apologies needed.

Besides... ''... What about the platypus...'' was a cherry on top... thats why we love our humble host.

I'm new to plus and just listened to the Yan episode last night. While he had interesting things to say, his behavior was ridiculous. Honestly, I'm with The Carlwood on this one. I don't think Yan's evidence is conclusive enough to take the stand he's taking.

Good on Greg for not losing his demeanor, I was cursing at my speakers for him!

Oh man, I was hoping to get Jan on, not realizing that he had already appeared. These comments are disappointing; I'll have to listen to it anyway. All I can say is that guy has some solid research on his channel and his various websites, even if he acts like a jerk in interview.

For Greg; is there a site-map, or a way to get a text-only list of all of the shows? I love the graphics that help to illustrate the topic of each show; but when I'm scrolling through a lot of shows looking for something specific or new, they take forever to load, and I sometimes just get frustrated and give up. If I could look at a simple text list of the shows you have logged, I would have definitely listened to this show by now; I'm going to go search for it and check it out.

Listen to jasun horsley on his auticulture podcast - his Jan episode was the typical Jan rant. At the end Jan was bitching about how he can't get guests anymore and hardly gets invited on shows anymore. He's put it down to his deep research but we all know it's his style that puts people off.

When I first 'stumbled upon' The Higher Side Chats - It was this episode I listened to first.
Despite Greg's disclaimer along the lines of his preference being a first-year begin with a different episode.... It was this episode that led to my THC addiction.

Great episode.

That was definitely a jaw dropper - or a headphone-dropper, more like; it was just painful to listen to Jan yelling for around an hour straight, and with absolutely no provocation whatsoever. I guess the trivium didn't teach him how to have a civil conversation! Disappointing from someone who would otherwise have a great message to offer. He clearly didn't do his research before coming on, or he would know that it's Carlwood's questions that make this show different.

The end of the conversation was closer to what I was hoping for; maybe his too-many-coffee jitters finally wore off. Maybe he was grumpy from being gang-stalked, or maybe those dicks from MK-Ultra finally shut off their mind-control beam that they had pointed at is head! We must not make assumptions.

If I were you, Greg, I probably wouldn't want to have him back; certainly not without an apology. But I stand by my recommendation that you watch his (several-episode) interview of Steve Outtrim and then get THAT guy on to talk about military intelligence in pop culture.
