Let me attempt a logical proof of Good and Evil.
Do you want to die right now? If I gave you a choice between dying right now and dying at some later date, which would you choose? Some people would choose right now, but the overwhelming majority of people will choose some later date. No?
If we can agree to this, we can agree that most people would say that surviving through the next ten seconds would be a "Good" thing. Well, at least better than dying.
I have heard people call this a "hierarchy." I think that's useful. You have decided that one option has more value to you than another option. One is "better" on the Polarity of Good and Bad. For you. Everyone has their own hierarchies.
But if we can agree that most people would choose survival, at any given time, we can infer that these individual hierarchies line up in some places. We would see all the things like Kindness, Gratitude, Forgiveness, Harmony, Joy, Love and Growth show up in almost everybody's hierarchies on the Good side of the spectrum.
Likewise, many things on the Bad side would line up for vast amounts of people. Lechery, Greed, Arson, Torture, Murder, taking a dump in somebody's sock drawer.
All Good and Bad mean are that you have hierarchies. Value systems. Things you like more than other things. Rainbows - Good. Genocide - Bad. I bet your hierarchies look a lot like mine, in that regard.
If we can agree to define Evil as "that which plots and executes Bad acts at the expense of another's Love, Growth and Joy," then that's good enough for me. How Evil you are is in direct proportion to how much Love, Growth and Joy of another's, you would destroy.
The Universe does not care about Good and Evil. Like a good game, it allows all paths. It makes no judgements. Even as to the sanctity of a man's sock drawer. I make judgements. The people around me make judgements. We have preferences. Systems of values. Hierarchies. It is only I and they that will determine whether I am a Hero or a Villain. Not the Universe.
