Today’s guest, Phoenix Aurelius, is a self-taught Spagyrist who has been practicing and teaching the Alchemical Arts & Sciences since 2005. One of his highest stated goals is reconstructing Spagyric Theory, Philosophy, Practice, & Pharmacopoeia for the 21st Century.

He runs the Phoenix Aurelius Research Academy, which offers courses, materials, and his handmade tinctures. All can be found @ phoenixaurelius.org

I recently discovered and visited the Embassy of the Free Mind here in Amsterdam. It's a treasure trove of alchemical and gnostic resources, featuring an incredible library of mystical books. Even the exhibition on Jacob Bohme (Eye For The World) was great.
And that led me to check a few books on the legendary Paracelsus (Theophrastus von Hohenheim). Not bad for a THC synchronicity !

The head of this young man is in fact a diagram of the human mind. Not only does it indicate the seats of the five senses – Tactus, touch (index finger); Gustus, taste (mouth); Odoratus, smelling (nose), Visus, sight (eye) and Auditus, hearing (ear), but also the way through which God can communicate with man and vice versa. This can be achieved using the faculties of reason (Ratio), intellect (Intellectus) and mind (Mens). Above these three faculties we see a ‘communication channel’ that allows man to access the world of God and the angels .
