It's a learnning curve but there is a common thread amongst all ancient teachings, mystery schools, folk religions like animisim that there are other non physical energies that occupy the same space as we do. Even in the bible it says our fight is against powers and principlaities - but they left brian teach us that its aout worldy goverments - nope its the non organic archons.forces outside of our visible world (or our five senses) that interact and influence us. It's something that I'm starting to dip my toes into and it's sinking in
If yuo have a christian upbringing try learing about gnsoticism - such as aeonbyte podcast - read the highlights form the secret book of john, and of the origins of the world - it specifically talks about the archons creating the current world of ours and how they fucked up making adam so had to give him a living soul.
the left brain chatter is them tellling you not to learn anything that might shine light on them - its a strong urge. Out of mind out of sight!!
nearly all mystery schools teach about being the observer and not the owner of thoughts.
I'd recomend you follow your path of what peaks your interest amongst all the fringe topics - go down the branch road discover whats down there but return to the main route of finding youe true Self in the jungian sense - actual thats a good book - Carl Jung - memories dreams and refelctions. the path of individaution as Jung puts it as also the same as the heros journey, or the chistian finding the kigdom within.
I had a direct personal experience with the mystery - supernatural events that my left brain told me to ignore but they just kept coming so i stopped the majority of radio and TV and listened to a wide variety of podcasts and delved a little deeper into those that resonated with me to find out some answers.
you have to unlearn the schooling you had to be able to learn the new stuff - and make your own judgements using what is likely to be true on the balance of probablities.
for example I was exposed to Electric universe stuff on podcasts quite a few times over a few years but I just couldn't hear what i was listening to, it took a couple of years of gettign other stuff under my belt before the penny dropped and i could start to find it interesting.
theres also some dead ends that some get lost down (flat earth - planet x, mud flood, moon landing, etc etc) that can capture you in a everdecreasing circle. yeah find out about them but dont get lost like some have.
a short cut to an experience of the mystery can be magic mushroms, the first time can be just great fun then do some more a month later for mind expansion that will demand more answers.
have fun on your journey.
Lol I stil obviously haven't figured out why spell check isn't working in my Firefox desktop. My lightening fast fingers betray me sometimes hahaha
